A RECOGNIZED AUTHORITY IN THE FIELD
 

Ms. Schwartz Ehrens is a passionate advocate for immigrants, and for economic growth through the contributions and ingenuity of immigrants.  She is widely published and has lectured on broad range of topics including: H-1B visas; visa options for start-ups, techies and other entrepreneurs; issues affecting physicians; E-Verify; I-9 compliance; naturalization; The DREAM Act; and grassroots advocacy, among many others.  Ms. Schwartz Ehrens co-authored and co-edited The Immigration Compliance Book, a comprehensive reference book on worksite compliance and E-Verify (2009). In 2014, she co-authored and co-edited Forming and Operating an EB-5 Regional Center: A Guide for Developers and Business Innovators as well as The EB-5 Book 2014-2015 which was published in 2015.

 

INVOLVEMENT IN THE IMMIGRATION COMMUNITY

 

Ms. Schwartz Ehrens is an adjunct professor of Business Immigration Law at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Professional Studies’ Advanced Certificate in Immigration Law program.  She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is active on the Corporate Practice, Department of Labor, and Advocacy committees of AILA’s New York Chapter. She is also the New York Ambassador of the American Immigration Council, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS).  

Pro bono service is a priority for Ms. Schwartz Ehrens and her practice. She represents unaccompanied minors in immigration court and volunteers for community-based organizations that advocate for and provide free legal services to immigrants including:  The Safe Passage Project; CUNY Citizenship Now!; AILA; HIAS; American Immigration Council (AIC); and many more.
